Owned one of these QUAD 2 beauties for a while. Absolutely loved it's aesthetics and I still reckon the QUAD suspension design was great.... if a bit heavy.

Got any guilty pleasures, with pics of course! 😉

Oof, that whyte (I think) from the early 90s with The front shock on the crazy forks combo

occasionally pass an old geezer on one when riding local, looks ace.

+1 for having a soft spot for the old Marin Quad. My experiences were mixed, the medium frame had fantastic geometry and I liked the aesthetics.  The large was a complete disappointment - too short, too tall, gangly top tube and angles that bore little resemblance to its slightly smaller brethren.

I’m also quite taken with those Banshee frames too.

ajantom

I think the QUAD 2 was designed by the guy that took over the suspension design from Mr Whyte from memory?

I Always liked the heavyweight boxer look of this, and sometimes regret selling it. Sometimes.

Funnily enough, my new build has a similar rear sus set up, only it works better.

The Whyte was the first one I thought of; then I read the Brompton comment and I... yes, it is a bit ugly...

Not a bike per se, but I always had a soft spot for Leftys.
