Dunno. How much is it costing you? Age?

Zaskars are quite a firm ride. Very quick, tight frames. But get a nice saddle and some decent forks on it.

Not as tough as the Eastons or as light.

Still a good frame for xc (I wouldn't use it for heavy trails).

Is it the blue & yellow-they were hydroformed and looked pretty good.

Tight tyre clearence on rear.

Builds into a light xc whippet.

Define "heavy trails" though! Have you seen some of the stuff Hans Rey did on a Zaskar? Admittedly the newer ones might not be quite as bombproof as the old ones - some of which were early DH bikes, but they're pretty tough for most riders.

Having seen some of the stuff world class XCers do on sub 20lb hardtails, I'm sure the Zaskar would do the job. Bargain at £100 too IMO.

I'm running the fourth frame now, broke two of them. I like the stiffness, hence responsiveness, and the looks.

The warranty lasts forever for their alloy frames and I've been abusing it since 1999.

I break them since I'm a heavy xc racer and frames undergo lots of beating. I had some issues with the frames' stiffness before I started to work on my upper body.

ah, frames are a bit heavy, since the triple triangle. My M sized frames weigh between 1620-1680.

Which model team did you go for?

If it was the yell/blue then you need 85mm 5-+

You could use a 100mm if you few options but 85mm would be ideal for alu.

100mm is spot on for the carbon.

100mm is fine, GT've been installing 100mm forks on stock bikes for about 5-6 years after they had switched to integrated headsets in 2004. Carbon frames have the same geometry as al frames.
