Rode this yesterday - sweet baby jeebus that video last wednesday didn't quite do it justice. As an old decrepit xc rider I can say it was stimulating (only dabbed once though, near the top on the steep switchbacks). Top trail building G'dale mountain bikes crew!
Rode it last night in the dark and it was fun but you really need to ride it a few times to know where it goes. Got caught out by the tight switchbacks at the top too, Danny Hart I was not
Not sure manicured smooth ribbons of trail with doubles is really what floats my boat, is it really mountain biking to ride such unnaturally smooth terrain? Its bike park riding and its fun but not what I primarily go out to ride.
I do however want to do it again and get those switchbacks nailed and to carry some more speed through the berms. Also enjoyed the leap down the steps to start the run.
I suppose in Grizdale, it's a nice antidote to all the proper rough natural stuff round there?
Yes and I am just being picky about manicured smooth trails. It was fun and I'd do it again.
Rode it a few week back after doing some of the natural stuff in the area, very impressed with what the volunteers have done with it, I like the tight top section over the smoother bottom section but welld one to all who helped build it, welcome addition to the area.
Wait till we get started on the DH run ๐
..and remember that's just the bottom section, the plan is to start at the steps and then work our way all to the top of the hill.
Gonna be a ruff un.
Do you guys have a trailbuilding group/website etc?
If you want to get involved get in contact with the shop for info about when the next dig day is, or look on their FB page.

Usually on a Sunday morning, until we feel knackered. About 3- 4 hours is average. All volunteers gratefully welcomed.
Did I tell everyone that as a reward for turning up a as trail buliding volunteer, we were all given a car parking pass for all the FC car parks for the whole of the North of England.
Smug ? Me ? 8)
That's not a bad reward for your effort really is it ?
See you there.

Not by the miserable sods at Dalby you won't.
Good old FC, rewarding volunteer trailbuilders everywhere! Or not...
Good luck guys, sounds like your knocking out some nice work ๐
