the bolts in my sliding dropouts have twice (over a couple of weeks) been so stuck solid that they've broken an allen key and smell weird when they finally crack open - what can i stick on them to stop it happening? i cleaned them properly last time but doesn't seem to have made any difference..
Threadlock would probably be a better option. Blue??
Copper 'grease'
That's what it's made for, it's an anti-seize compound ๐
Grease on the threads and under the head of the bolt will work fine, I wouldn't use threadlock for obvious reasons.
A washer under the head will help too.
EDIT bear in mind one of the posters has worked as a professional mechanic and has run sliding dropouts for 6 years...
ah yeah, of course! thanksCopper 'grease'

Actually, grease, copaslip or threadloc (non permenant) are all better than leaving it dry.
