Why do people think they need to drop down into granny ring when there's a slight incline in front of them?

It wouldn't be so bad if they had their gears adjusted properly and didn't drop/ jam the chain up and block the trail.

I think this has to be one of the worst rants I've ever read on this forum. 1/10.

Seems i've touched a few sensitive nerves.

If you're that weak at least make sure your lightweight gear works.

Or have to decency to get off the trail.

I like spinning slowly up steep hills in granny.
Its not a race its meant to be fun.
I have no problem letting quicker climbers through though.
Perhaps thats the issue your complaining about?

the trick is ride SS with a super low ratio, that way you can match the pace of the weak legged gearie mincers.

Can I just add if you have many gears but are pushing you radsicgnarcore orange 5/spesh enduro up the little hills at llandegla don't stop for a chat with your mates blocking the whole trail, at least have the courtesy to move off a bit to let the sprightly single speeders mosh past. Thanky peeps

EDIT: I was expecting something far more X-rated with a title of "granny ring riders"

couldn't you have had the decency to of stopped and offered some help, maybe they borrowed the light weight gear, didnt have a clue how to use it,and in there "hour of need" some professional looking rad dude riding a bike with no gears? rode straight past mumbling under his breath about how they should have got out of his way,

calm down mr " did you see that whip" youll have an accident.

just wondering where your local trails are ssjeff, maybe we could have a ss and geared combo ride and all sort out our differences on the trails instead of from behind computer screens ?

Not all of us are young and buff, some of us have gears to go quick on the flat, but, but, very often I find useless singlespeeders blocking the way, blowing out of their arses, when not talking through it.
F*****g pathetic freaks.

Wow.

up n down ripped me a new one good and propper.

Your tearing is about as good as the grannyring incompetence on the trails.

OK ssjeff so you are a trolling tosser with no sense of politeness or punctuation.

A bloke going slowly uphill could be in granny, middle or big ring. But how are they going to deal with the awesomeness that is you...? ๐Ÿ™„

It's a big world out there. There is room for lots of people who ride in different ways. If you are so insecure and pathetic that this is the way you need to express your individuality, good luck mate.

I love the granny ring, i try and turn the pedals at about 40rpm tops, especilly when know there is someone on a singlespeed behind, oh how i laugh.

Thats why i got into mountain biking 6 months ago, its the inclusive nature of the people who do it.

Can this be on an organised STF ride?
Whilst you 2 are having your pints I'll be on the 2nd last hill cruising in my granny gear.

Silly rant really, you have no idea what distance or how long the rider has been at it, I've done many any a 4-5 hour ride and have been granny ringing that last few miles just to get home. FAIL
