I'm in the Lakes in a few weeks and a I have a GPX file of a route I quite fancy that I currently can't see/read. I don't have a fancy Garmin so want to view it on my iPhone whilst there to nav by.
What's the best free app to do so? Maprika any good?
I'm not really (at all) clued up on this stuff...hence this post ๐Ÿ˜‰ Cheers

Back country navigator now has an ios app. Free version is online only, but you can overlay is maps from bing.

Have a look at this one too

https://ukmapapp.com/

Which has free os mapping

OsmAnd app is free, you can import and view a GPX on it, it allows free downloads of areas of the UK to use offline so is great for days out in the hills.

View ranger is what I used.

A cheap Garmin edge25 does breadcrumb nav which to be fair I like as it's dead simple. No good if you get lost or off track dramatically or need a grid ref.

The komoot app is pretty good and has navigation. Upload the gpx through the website and use your phone to view it.
