Am I alright to replace the cables of Gore Sealed cables? I only ask as my rear cable is splintered perilously close to the clamp on the rear mech. I was hoping to keep the sealed element of the cables and just put in a new cable? Shouldnt be any problems should there?

'Normal' cables could end up wearing through the plastic liner if you have any too-tight curves in the system; although since you can't buy the inners by themselves you really have nothing to lose by seeing how standard ones will interact.

Get some 1mm heat-shrink tubing to finish your cable-end. It's better than a crimp as it won't start the fraying process by crushing the cable, and you can remove/replace as often as you like without the need to trim the cable.

Good idea on the heat shrink cable. Never thought of that approach. Seems daft that you cant buy the inners seperately.

Gore inner cables are available. Though not many shops have them. But they should be able to get hold of them through Madison.

I always cut the cable off at the mech clamp so never have any need for crimps.
