Good looking full suss bikes?

Swarf Contour and Transition Spur for me. Basically any full sus, that on first glance, looks like a HT. If it looks like a steel HT it gets bonus points.

Oddly I’m also a fan of the other end of the spectrum. Bikes that look like agricultural equipment, so Orange and Curtis.

I love the look of the Spesh Enduro and the Kenevo SL. To me they just look right.

The Transition does look good though.

No e-bikes are pretty either, sorry. Massive tube to house the battery/motor just makes the proportions look all wrong.

Yep, no e-bike has been anything better than average.

My ebike has no aspirations to look pretty. None whatsoever. It just looks like the absolute tank that it is 😂

(It's still better looking than that bloody Orange 🙄 though that hasn't got a battery as an excuse 😉)

That Spur's not a total disaster, but it's hardly good looking either. The top tube/seat stay arrangement is pleasing, but what's up with that headtube? Coupled with the really long top tube, it looks like someone's started with a big blob of material and just kept pulling tubes out of it.

Not sure about that tbf.😬

As for the Transition, the head tube is a bit bulbous. Maybe looks worse due to spacers and xc forks? Still much prettier than most though.

@Daffy ... Spur looks great.

But you lose points for playing it against that monstrous concrete wall.

that particular angle of that shot, kinda looks like an AI attempt at a bike. I understand how the lightville suspension works, but I couldnt figure it out from that view, it looks like its missing some bits

From 2010 I owned, rode and raced this beauty for a few years. I still haven’t seen a better looking DH bike.

@stingmered lovely bike, I've been keeping my out on the 2nd hand market for ages for one to come up in size XL, been plenty of size L sadly. Might have to start looking further afield, beauty of a design.

I don't think the Heckler sl looks much different from a lot of Carbon bikes assisted or otherwise

Looks no worse than most current Santa Cruz. Not sure that’s a good thing though?

Propain shows that carbon bikes with that silhouette don’t have to be minging.

It doesn’t when you are dead side on. Anywhere else you see the mega wide downtube.

I have the normally aspirated version of that bike - even down to the colour, and even then it's a tough ask to call it anything other than "robust"

Aren't we used to that now though? Wide downtubes on ebikes just look normal to me now, where as they used to look incongruous.

@eatmorepizza eventually sold mine a couple of years ago after it sitting unused for 5 years. A guy in Latvia bought it, sorted the shipping out and everything!

Might be used to it but still looks terrible. The first manufacturer to make a properly pretty E-Bike will clean up.

Not a fan of the banshees - same as a lot of the Ibis bikes - the DW link style suspension makes the rear triangle sit too low vs the top tube and something about the extra support between top tube and seat tube looks odd to me.

I still think steep seat tubes with slack head tubes looks weird. Like you've bent the bike upwards by the wheels. Might ride well, but they'll never look good.

@aidy - I agree - particularly on hardtails but some full suss too. Some of the Sick bikes they made looked properly squashed in the middle.

I've just ordered a M/L Aether 9 Shimano
Build. Its not a bad looking bike, it's definitely better looking then my old Sonder Evol 2018!
Got to wait a for weeks though as the frames aren't in the country yet.
But I'm very much looking forward to getting back out on the trails with my new sled!

Might just be me but horizontal shocks always look nicer than vertical ones. Any that are attached to the top tube are an affront to the MTB gods.

I like the shape of the Raaw bikes. The DH rig ticks all the boxes.

Also agree that Transition are doing it right, even down to the colours.

Anything with a shock that looks like it is waiting to castrate the rider at the slip of a pedal is a no from me.

How much you fancy riding one isn't a strict factor in bicycle prettiness imo, but yeah, that Liteville looks like a bike had an unfortunate run in with a scissor lift.

You don’t look at the mantelpiece… etc.

That is why I always insist that anyone I ride with has a beautiful bike. I don’t give a stuff what mine looks like.

Very tired, meant the other way around. Vertical shocks just look nicer to my eye. Like they’re supposed to be that way around. Horizontal looks okay on industrial bikes like Orange and Curtis.
