[#937399]

I'm thinking about converting the Pitch to 1x9 with simplicity being the main reason for it. I only ever really use the 32t ring and occasionally drop the chain due to hitting bumpy stuff a bit fast. I often use the Pitch on proper DH tracks too so I think I might benefit with this change.

So who has gone 1x9 and loved it/regreted it?

BTW it currently has a twin ring setup and I am thinking about building up a singlespeed HT from spares.

Use 36 11/34 on my hack bike. I find it fine for riding in most conditions and a hell of a lot easier than it was (36 x 16ss). You could probably get away with just a roller (bs stinger) rather than a full on chain device like I use (e13lss)

I wouldn't like to try and run it round a trail centre or somewhere which had some decent climbs.

I run 9 (11-32) speed rear and a single 34T up front, so far so good. Works fine for most stuff I ride. I also run a e13 Ls1 to keep the chain from coming off.

I had a 36t on my Enduro and I managed most of the climbs on the MBR at CyB in that ring granted I stuck it in the 26t granny for a couple and I'm fitter and stronger now. I don't often ride anywhere that steep going up to be fair anyway.
