[Closed] Glove liners..... EDZ silk or Merino or other?

I have a pair of Gore Alp-X 2.0 gloves for winter mtb, road & commuting.

I really like them, but my hands got really cold & wet on Sunday 🙁

I thought about getting waterproof gloves, but don't cycle in the rain enough to justify them.

To keep the cold at bay, I thought about thin glove liners for when it does get nippy.

Was looking at EDZ, but don't know whether to get silk or Merino......

Any suggestions folks?

Cheers,

Alan.

I use silk, seems warmer to me, and dries far quicker

Silk. Mine were toasty in this morning's cold fog. Watch them on the velcro. Merinowill not be thin enough to slide under generic well-fitting cloves. Nitrile won't breath.

do your hands really need to breathe if your hands/gloves are getting soaked in the rain/cold.

maybe if its only a cold day use silk.

Crappy wet weather, Nitrile + normal gloves are better/cheaper than forking out for waterproof mtb gloves.

Silk liners. You can get them for less than a tenner, they're really thin, so should fit under other gloves and I reckon they add a season to the rating of the outer glove.

You can get a pair of thin fleece liners in Decathlon for a bargain £1

Decathlon do perfectly good silk liners for around £6. They do add quite a bit of warmth, but only if your gloves are big enough to accommodate them and still leave some air space.
