Thinking about gettting an xtc, I am 5ft 7, 30 inche leg.

Everything points to me needing a 16, anyone know if would that be OK?

I'm 5'9" and have a 2007 xtc in 16" guise and it's border line for feeling to small for me so I guess you should be okay.

Worth trying for size if you can.

Edit, it was a 17" small. 😳

I'm 5'7", just under a 31" inside leg - had 2 of the 17" XTC frames at various times, that used to be Giant's 'Small' size.

either a 2009 XTC1, or I may stretch to a 2009 xtc Allinace 1, or a 2010 xtc 1

Ive just got a XTC 1 '09 from Pauls cycles (cycle to work) great bike BUT forks are already on route back to Sram after Poploc stopped working after 2nd ride and the front end seems like it needs better bars as its got big flex issue... oh and I snapped the hanger off on ride 3 just after I snapped the chain.... The frame is great but the components seem a bit on the cheap side..

strange it may seem, an xtc 1 medium measures as a 18 inch frame, but for some reason the xtc alliance medium measures as a 17 inch frame. check the giant website. golden rule get a test ride before you buy and try both sizes out.

Just to throw a small spanner in the works.
Sizing may be year dependent;
2009 xtc. 16" - 574 top tube
2010 xtc. 15" - 575 top tube
2010 xtc 17" - 595 top tube

Personally a 595 top tube might be a tad long for your height.

2009 and earlier sizes 16" 18" 20"
2010 and on sizes 15" 17" 19"

I'm 5'7" (don't know inside leg) and have a 17" (2007) XTC 4.5. Running a 4" travel fork it is a bit tight on standover height (about 1.5"). So 16" should be ok. Reach wise the frames have a stretched out top tube, so you shouldn't feel cramped. But I've got a 350mm Carbon seatpost, which is at it's minimum insertion level. So if you get a 16", make sure you have/get a 400mm seatpost if you want to have an efficient/XC saddle height.

the bike fits me better than any other I have ridden.
