Whats the max fork I could put on the bike whilst still maintaining a good riding poss. It has a 80mm at the moment and looking for 120 or 140. Anyone got any ideas???

The aluminium NRS or the carbon one?

If the latter, the frame measurements quoted were using a fork with a 445mm axle to crown length, I think. For comparison, I believe the latest Rockshox SiD 80mm is 453mm from axle to crown, and the 100mm version is 473mm, so I suspect a 120mm or 140mm fork would have an axle to crown length quite a bit longer than the bike was designed for...

southern hemisphere ones came with 100mm as standard. i wouldn't have thought that 120 would be too bad - 140might suffer from chopper flop.

i have to ask why though.

I run Rebas on mine. At 100mm they're perfect for all round stuff, wound down to 80mm for long climbs. At 115mm, it's fine for long descending, but for anything else, as thomthumb mentions, it's chopper flop o'clock at over 100mm.

Have a fox talas that winds out to 120mm on mine which is fine but wind it down for long climbs.

I used to have a set of 120mm Marzocchi MX comp ETAs on mine, pootled about happily until I went uphill then put on the ETA, worked OK for me, but you certainly wouldn't want any longer!
