[#4991390]

Got myself a shiny new Garmin 810 today, all excited until i tried to get the GB discoverer map onto it.....failed miserable so far.

Im using OSX and got the map saved as a .img file on there, its 2.7GB

Any ideas how to get it onto the Garmin unit gratefully received

Where did the IMG file come from? Is it licensed to you? Has it been used on another device?

Do you have a microSD card in the 810?

When you plug the 810 into the mac, do two drives appear - one the garmin and the other the memory card?

If you get two drives, it's simply a case of copying the IMG from your mac and into the GARMIN folder on the microSD card.

EDIT - I'm not sure how the drivers work with a mac - you might need to first install the garmin usb drivers from their website.

First you open the img file (double click on it) as it's a disk image. The expanded img show up on your desktop and sidebar in a window. Then you copy the contents on to your Garmin or SD card by simply dragging and dropping or pressing command C then command V on the desired destination.

It's much easier on the 800 so I'll swap you mine if you like. ๐Ÿ˜€
