Hi All,

I'm heading down to the south of France next week and I was looking for some maps for my Garmin Dakota. Normally I use talky toaster for free uk maps and they work really well, does anyone know of anything similar for Menton/Monaco area?

Looking forwards to getting the bike out in the sun!

Thanks.

Have a look on ioffer.com you'll probably get all of France for 20 quid or so.

Just use the openstreetmap MTB edition. Whole of France (And rest of world) in great detail for free.

The openmtbmaps are fantastic. There's more trails mapped on those ones than on some of the official Garmin ones.

Thanks for those links, that openmtbmaps looks good, I might even replace all my UK maps with that.

Cheers for the help folks.

If you know exactly where you are going you might want to check the openmtbmap stuff against any trails that you know before you go. I've found occasionally in France that some stuff is missing but it's usually been marked trails where it isn't too important as long as you know start and end points. If you have a printout of local trails from the local tourist office or overlay some tracks from something like gpsies then that covers all bases

...and remember to record your tracks and update the openstreetmap with anything that's missing ๐Ÿ™‚
