Have just had a Garmin 800 arrive through the post and, despite the apparently 'quick start' manual, I'm not being so quick in starting....
Your help in answering the following questions would be MUCH appreciated:
- it has only come with the one cable (for charging via the USB). Should there be another cable/adaptor of some sort for the 2nd slot ?
- I've paid for the 1:50k mapping upgrade. The mapping card has come in the pack - how do I upload it onto the 800 ?
- finally, I'm trying to download a sportive route for tomorrow. I've saved it onto my PC and also transferred it (I think ! ) onto my 800 as when I plug the 800 into the USB it does say the route is there - however I can't find it within the routes section on the device itself. How do I access it ?
I don't have any small children to ask / fix it for me - what am I doing wrong please ? (I can't see answers to the above in the on-line manuals...).
Thanks ....
I think you'll find the second slot is where you put the mapping card. Can't help with the route question I'm afraid as I've not used that function.
The second, bigger slot, is where you fit the memory card with your maps on. To transfer your route just find the drive called "Garmin Edge 800". Then in the folder "Garmin" you will see another folder called "NewFiles". Put your route in there and the 800 will find it and put it where it wants. You will then be able to select "Courses" on the 800 and it should be in there.
