Front wheel pulling...

[Closed] Front wheel pulling to the left.

Hello

I wanted to get back out on my bike after not riding for awhile. Unfortunately the front wheel intermittently pulls to the left, which makes the bike hard to control.

I don't think its a problem with the wheel as the pull happens over several rotations of the wheel. None of the spokes appear to be loose ether. The handle bars appear to be on securely as well.

Does anyone know what the problem maybe.

Thanks in advance

Lee

What? Pulls to the left?

Is the stem straight? Are you sat wierdly on the bike? Are your forks twisted?

Never heard of that before, very odd.

I tyre looks fine and I have inflated them properly. The tyre's are quite old now and are looking a bit shoddy, could that be an issues. Sorry I don't have any pictures.

Thanks RealMan.

McHamish, I also has a tiny right arm so I don't believe that that it the issues.

Put your right hand on the right hand side of the handlebar and pull it to the right, that should correct it or do you find that your front wheel is now 'pulling to the right' ? ๐Ÿ™„

You probably need to take it back to KwikFit and get the weights rejigged to balance it.

Thanks for the relies. I'll loosen the headset (but not to much) and see if the problem continues.

I always thought that disk breaks should be on both sides like motorbikes, you know?

I had a Saracen in my workshop with this problem. Looking from above the steerer top cap, it could be seen that the front wheel was off centre i.e. the dropout inner faces were not equidistant from the steerer tube centre line.

Also check that the crown race, cups etc. are installed correctly i.e. pressed home against square surfaces.
