I have a Planet X XLS and the front shifting is and always has been awful.  It is designed for a top pull front mech but has a pulley fitted and a standard road down pull mech.  However with this set up the cable either rubs on the mech band or needs to be crossed over and ends up at a funny angle.

I'm thinking of getting rid of the pulley and just using a nice clean top pull. So what 2x10 band clamp, top pull front mech will work with Sram red shifters?  I've looked at the Shimano FD-CX70 and no one has one with a band clamp in stock.

I presume a mtb 2x10 won't work with road shifters?

Hope that makes sense,  thanks for any help.

You can buy a braze on clamp if you can only find a braze on front mech

I presume a mtb 2×10 won’t work with road shifters?

not so familiar with SRAM but I've done a couple of times with Shimano and the pull ratios say shouldn't work but works fine -  this well used table would seem to say pull ratio's are same MTB and road for SRAM 10speed

http://blog.artscyclery.com/science-behind-the-magic/science-behind-the-magic-drivetrain-compatibility/

depends on what size chain ring running - if nearer an MTB size then MTB mech is my rule of thumb if a standard road compact then a road mech and as bigyan says

edit the pull ratio on that hyperlink def doesn't work too well pulls the final comment way out of line!
