My x2 is making a squelching sound and after research it seems that a seal on the compression valve has given up and is allowing air to mix with oil. I will be getting it serviced on Friday but wanted to ask if riding this week will cause any more damage? The damping isn’t great but I could get by as long as it isn’t going to totally trash the internals.

I doubt it will damage it further. I'm so insensitive I don't tend to notice failed rebound on a succession of failed cane creeks and X2 apart from the carpark test.

However I do attribute my worst 2 crashes to failed rebound, getting pinged over the bars after jumping and 5 days in hospital, so I wouldn't use it again till it was fixed.

I'd ride it as it is.

It will not do any further damage. It's your call if the current performance level is useable.

The rebound damping is semi working. The compression damping not at all. It's rideable but no lockout and a bit spongey. Better than no riding though. 😉
