Are we talking Muhammed Ali v George Foreman or George Formby?

Don't know much about the Dueler but it seems to get some good reviews online. How do they compare, is it a fair match or is the Fox tried and tested and the champion of this fight?

I've had a week at coed-y-brenin, and multiple messing about on street steps/drops etc with a Diverse Dueler on my Alpine 160.

In short:

Amazing shock.

Simon at Loco has been absolutely brilliant with everything, couldn't have been more helpful on my requirements so i'd shoot him across an email if you have any doubt or just wish to know more.

I'm afraid I have no knowledge in regards to the Fox Coils, never used one.

It'd be for DH / FR and perhaps a bit of AM riding on a Scott Voltage

I went for the RC on my new frame and got a ti spring from Loco, the dueler does looks like a nice bit of kit and amazing value with the ti spring,I wish I'd seen it before i bought the Fox,give it a go,it'll be warantied through Loco and Simon seems like a top bloke.

If it's for DH/FR then i'd certainly recommend it.

I bought it too for this purpose, I don't normally do trail centres, other than once a year, but I was amazed at how well it did there.

The Dueler has more adjustment than the van RC with the high and low speed compression adjustment it also doesn't have the propedal which is just a low speed compression platform/circuit.
It's more active too, they are completely tunable too so I can valve to whatever spec. you want.

My team rider James swapped his Fox RC2 (the next model up from the Van RC) that came as standard on his Lapierre DH race bike this year for a standard Dueler, going faster straight away, only check air pressure twice the whole season of national and local races. No problems at all with his best result being 2nd in senior at Rheola.

hmmm....
Loco - do you happen to know if the dueler will fit a 07/08 iron horse sunday without fouling the link?
and do you get a choice of spring rate with the Ti spring?

I'm pretty sure that it will fit, I'm going to go and double check later this afternoon, as I friend has one down the road ๐Ÿ™‚

And yes I have some other spring rates in.

I'm quite interested in a coil shock for my new Orange 5 build. The thing is, I know that orange 5's benefit from a bit of platform damping. Can the Diverse be tuned for decent single pivot performance?

The shortest Dueller at present is 215 X 64 so it won't fit the Five.

The low speed compression is adjustable for more 'bob prone' frames.
I can also increase the compression by re-valving too.

Oops I thought I'd seen they do a 190mm. Nevermind - vanilla maybe with a push tune for me then.

Mildred - i run a 2011 van rc on my five, 190x50 is the size you need. It's been the best upgrade to my five. IMO i don't think you need a push tune on it or a revalve for that matter, a bit of low speed compression to counter any unwanted bob and away you go, dh duties mean less low speed compression and fireroads mean more, simples! Tracks so much better than the rp23 it replaced, easily worth the extra weight penalty which was about 1lb even with a nukeproof ti spring.

GW, just checked the Dueler for clearance in the Sunday frame, it won't fit just a bit too tight I'm afraid.

The clearance in that frame is pretty tight, it almost fitted but the adjusters would foul when the shock bottomed out.
I can always custom tune your current shock to get it working better ๐Ÿ˜€

is it just the DW link that fouls it?

if so, how much do you reckon I'd need to file off for it to clear?

With the shock mounted with the reservoir at the bottom facing backwards, it was the high and low speed compression adjusters that were going to hit the first stay that runs across the link.

I don't really want to recommend any grinding as it's quite a small stay and think it would affect the strength of the link adversly.
