Aren't trek running/testing 29ers?

I wouldn't bet on rach not winning a single round...

Overheard Rob Warner say the other week that 29er will soon be standard for DH; they're just waiting for decent tyres to be released apparently...

Maxxis do all their DH tyres in 29 don't they? Pretty sure Schwalbe do too, as so Spesh.

Apparently Rachel Atherton really likes the Session 29 proto so if she decides to ride it, yes it'll win a world cup this year.

TBH it's surprising it's taken so long to get all the pieces together, I thought Specialized would go for it big style but they seemed to lose a bit of confidence when the 650b machine got going.

Nah, Maxxis only do the Minion dhf though there's a DD DHR2 2.3, Specialized don't make any (their dh experiments all used the standard Grid tyres apparently), Schwalbe only a couple in supergravity but no real DH.
