[#3784550]

I am going to service my fork as it hasn't been done. I bought the bike new last June and it's done many a bike ride, plus 85 miles of the Kielder 100. So it's long overdue!!
Anyway, 1. Are the new low friction seals worth it?
2. Should I do a full oil change (including float in the air top cap)
as well? As after googling Fox seem to be a bit tight on the oil front.
3. Anything else to look out for?

The fork is running ok, I just don't want to tempt fate!! The stancions look in good order (I turn the bike upside down and use silicone lube on them after every ride).

Think the RP2 on the rear may need some love too!!

Cheers

Definately do a full oil change you've done a lot of mileage so change it all to make sure there's no crap in there to mark the stantions. Only just changed to the low friction Seals and I can't say I notice a difference. Plenty of online guides. Only word of caution I can think of is undoing the top cap. Make sure you're careful not round it.

Cheers.
May pass on the low friction seals then as I find the forks fine as they are. Just thought I may get a fork epiphany.
Best I get some float and 10wt green ordered then 🙂

Maybe add more than the recommended 30 ml in the non damper side. Heard the upper bushing doesn't get lubricated enough. Was gonna get get low friction seals but now I'm wondering if it's worth it.

no, just regular 10wt fork oil from a motorcycle shop will do apparently

I just put low friction seals on my F100 Rl's i dont think you will notice much difference when riding..but i noticed that you have less oil on the visible part of the stanchions after a ride..I asked mojo about this and there reply was that the seal is more efficient so less oil will go past the lip of the seal..
I just looked on mojo's site and the only seals they list are low friction seals. I got mine from mojo, i thought they listed both..

Evans only have the low friction seals, the standard one is listed as discontinued for the 32mm forks.. maybe moving forward the SKF seals will be the only option?

The 'standard' non Low Friction/SKF seals have been discontinued, I have a few sets of the old ones if you really want them (£5 cheaper at 15.00 rather than £20 for the low friction ones RRP is £24.00)
The new seals offer less friction (as the name suggests and better sealing too, I can feel the difference between the two seals on both standard and Kashima coated forks.
