Any ideas where to get these from? Ordered some from UKbikestore, but I would have thought these would be standard engineering fare- 2.5mm C clips.

Local types are drawing a blank.

Any online places worth checking?

You really dont need them. Lost mine well over a year ago, just make sure the bolt is in tight(ish).

Hmm be careful. My front pads fell out when I didn't bother with the e-clip (K18s). I was doing about 25mph at the time so it's wasn't ideal.

Have you tried radio-control model shops? I'm sure my old Procat used clips about that size.

Also - don't tighten the retention bolt too tight as it can deform the caliper and cause the pistons to stick (advice from Formula)

Same as MRanger156.

I lost my clip 2 years ago on my Formula rear brake and I've never had an issue.

You will lose the clip(s) and they are expensive to replace so I wouldn't bother worrying about them (IMHO).

🙂

I never bother with mine either. Bolt is threaded, unlikely to go anywhere and pads can only fall/vibrate up out of the caliper, not down through the caliper. If you're paranoid use split pins instead.

Just get some tie wire and wrap a couple of turns around the slot the clip goes in. Twist it tight and clip off the remainder.

yippee, so theres nowt wrong with mine then 🙂 i posted on here a while ago with that problem 🙂

as it is, ive had to only just nip my pin up very slightly, which made me a little worried about it vibrating out (i dont use those c clips either, as i lost them, and anyway, itd be a faff to take them off mid ride).

but one rocky ride in the peaks later, with a few hrs of 'bang, bang, bang' down the descents, and its still there 🙂

i did look at other methods, and at one time id squeezed a tiny rubber 'o' ring over the end, but thats also a faff to get on and off. id feel happier with something holding it in, but i feel pretty safe with it after that last ride.
