[#2757394]

I want to upgrade my HT race bike's forks. It needs around 90-100mm forks with a standard steerer tube. I want light weight, but I weigh 90kg ish so wonder whether some of the very light forks would object to my blundering ways? I thought maybe Reba WC if I could find a second hand set, but maybe Fox F100s (or 90s)? I currently have basic/mid range Rebas on my HT and Fox Floats on my susser, so i don't know how other brands compare.

Thoughts/opinions anyone?

I'll buy your Rebas when you get your new ones.

I'm 88kg and have a set of DT Swiss XC100 for sale. Super light, but I've never had an issue with my weight vs theirs. Only going cos I'm too much of a namby pamby and want some 120mm SIDs.

I'll keep that in mind - cheers!

Now I thought that asking this sort of question would provoke a response approaching that of asking Campag or Shimano on a roadie forum, except I'm not trolling!

Have a look at Marzocchi Corsa's or 44 Micro Ti.

shirely you want some SID's 1300-1500g model dependant, WR Reba's are still in the 1500g range...

F'Ox - I thought you'd sold 'em? You still open to offers?

wwaswas - thanks - the 44s would be too long for my frame, but the Corsas have got a lot lighter since I last looked at Marzocchis (I used to like my ol' MX Comps).

you can shim the 44's travel down which drops the a-c but they're fairly heavy for a race bike.

Won't Sids flex under me unless I'm exhibiting an uncharateristic degree of finesse? Or have they got stiffer and stronger (the stantions went 28-32, didn't they)?

Rebas for me - well priced, reliable, work well and are easily up to your weight (you lightweight ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) plus there are plenty to choose from second hand or even new bargains.

I weigh more than you and have Magura Durins on a Heckler - Truly excellent forks and the lower travel ones are really light too.

New SID's are supposed ta be much much better with 32mm stantions, not the old noodles that they used to be.
But Reba's are the safe bet, and great forks

Okay, so...

Reba WC get a good write up but are a sod to find SH.
Sids are fine if 32mm version (what year did they change?)
Durins sound great, but maybe a bit pricey or had to find SH
Corsa SLs also sound good but need to be late versions for the weight (no point in changing for 50 grams or so)!
DT XC100s are on offer and light - what bout strength?

Good point - I will say for my Rebas that they've always worked flawlessly.
