I'd love to work on developing this kind of kit. Having to take their hands off the controls to turn the wheels looks like it holds them up a bit.

They need a little battery pack so they can get a little boost on the slower sections instead of having to push. He was definitely hanging it out a bit! Awesome ๐
wicked, uphill bits are a bit of a killer though...
There was a guy I saw on local roads some time ago in a recumbent racing diamond shaped wheelchair velocipeed of some sort. He had 'pedals' in front for his hands, but he seemed to sort of row rather than pedal with them.
Might work with these chairs, hands nearer the controls for when they switch to churning uphill and back.
Last year we had to stop and help an old bloke in an electric wheelchair who had started down the Tacks Blast section of Follow The Dog
He (and his mrs) had parked up at Marquis Drive and followed the wheelchair route (marked in red on the map he showed us) onto the red MTB route ๐
