[#6497862]

got my forks back from a guy who serviced the lowers for me and the rebound is no longer working at all.

can anyone recommend someone who really knows their shit in the manchester area that i can pass em on to?

i'm hoping it's something easily fixable like this..

Well, I found a solution - or rather the nice bloke at Flotec Suspension did.

Seems it's a fairly common issue where the tiny (TINY!) little holes at the top and/or bottom of the rebound cart get blocked up with dirt/dust, which stops the oil pressure from equalising, resulting in air trapped at the top.. He took the cart apart and used a single strand of inner gear cable, and some compressed air to clear out the little holes. Took about 5 or 6 minutes. ยฃ10 job, and it's worked a treat. I'm delighted!

ta!

Lowers service does'nt do anything with the damping (unless they are open bath and he's lost all the oil).
Are they on the bike?
Turn the rebound on full and compress/extend them slowly about 10 times.

They are open bath yeah.. float r's.

Theyre not on the bike at present, i've cycled them a bunch of times and nothing except an occasional snag at the first 10% of travel then they continue to ping out with no damping.

andjuster knob doesnt feel right either?? gahhh

hhhhmmmm wondering if he's done a lower leg oil change FIT style?

Edit: do to the compression adjusters still work (assuming the open bath versions have them)?

no compression adjustment on the r's.

big difference in the oil change procedure? I have upgraded to kashima stantions so that might have thrown him off. I would of thought the rebound adjust knob was a dead giveaway.

Yeah completely different. FIT forks are (effectively) a sealed damper with small amounts of oil in the lower legs acting as a lubricant. You have a larger quantity of oil that is used as both lubricant and damper oil
