...and can i depend on them instead of Gels on long distance rides...?
jelly babies FTW Haribo are a bit chewy
no you cant
but +1 for jelly babies
Tangfastics are the way forwards.
Dusted with Crack.
Haribo are a bit chewy
I think there was a batch of particularly chewy Haribo. I think they may have bin experimenting with a non-pork/animal based gelatine substitute. I do know they have Halal versions of some of their sweets.
Recent baygs have bin a lot softer, for sure.
Sugary nastiness โ
Hmmm
I have 50 or so mini packs left over from a kids party. Its either use them for riding, or give them away at work....
Burn the blasphemer. ^
๐
I find Haribos a bit chewy and tend to sit on my stomach, +1 for the Jelly Babies however
I prefer fizzy snakes myself.
+1 Jelly babies FTW !
haribo can be used in survival situations for emergency bike repairs and for treating exposure and most fatal injuries..
Haribo? Dreadful stuff.
Jelly Babies are disgusting. Haribo are much nicer.
I mix haribo with nuts, raisins and choc chips for a balance of necessary slow burn energy and sugar hit over the course of a ride. I find Haribo cheer me up which can be helpful when you're suffering.
Gels I use as get me homes when I'm proper borked. Def work for me.
I'd avoid taking too many or relying on them for your primary source of energy, IMO, they can use up reserves you need towards the end
Maoam Joystixx are where its at.
You lot are responsible for me popping to the co-op just now and buying a bag of Starmix...
Just so you know...
Bastards!
๐
Jelly babies dry my mouth up. Haribo just goes down better than anything else I've tried.
(except when they freeze anyway)
Tangfastics, M&S Percy Pigs, or Sainsburys fizzy fangs.....
Are the extra chewy Haribo's recently not just down to your pockets being probably 15-20 cooler than in summer? ๐
Haribo are poison. Delicious poison.
and they're from Yorkshire! ๐
I mix haribo starmix with dried mango and apricots sometime also apple. ๐ I have it in addition to gels.
Not tried the same with jelly babies might try that.
Jelly babies are almost pure glucose - same as energy gels
Sounds ideal TJ will get some next time I head to the shops to stock up on trail treats as a change
Jelly babies are easier to eat but I get massive sugar spikes off them
Im sorry but you're all wrong, its got to be the original Lions hard wine gums or butterscotch tablets... mmmmmmm
A rare find but.... Haribo Jellybabies for the win. Smaller and sharper/fruitier than the Bassetts versions, easier to chomp on when you're thirsty and not as chewy as other haribo . Much better value too.
If you come across the special addition anniversary 'Bassetts Jellyatrics'- pensioner shaped jelly babies - don't bother with them, they're rubbish
Worst sweets ever made!
Fruit pastilles work surprisingly well too.
M&S Percy Pigs
Still think it is funny/wrong that Percy Pigs actually have pig in them...
