Twitter says Newcastle too...

New store beside Buchanan galleries, opens tomorrow. Apparently price matching CRC 🙂

Aye Hoy is doing a Q&A session at the NewcasteGateshead Sky Ride tomorrow according to The Cycle Hub facebook feed.

Any locals going by the way?
I'll probably be on the Sustrans and/or Newcastle Cycling stall for a bit.

wouldn't like to see anyone going out of business but the other shops in the city centre are not somewhere i'll spend my cash.

Really? Dales is really pretty good as a big bike store IMHO and Billy Bisland is a proper LBS.

Can't see it being a threat to other Glasgow shops, really - There have been a couple of Alpine Bikes shops in or near the city centre for years, without much impact on other shops as far as I've seen.

Dales is still where I send everyone wanting a normal bike or repairs.

Evans won't been seeing me. Been on the receiving end of their 'knowledge' and 'customer service' once too often.

2nd Billy Bilslands as a good old school bike shop. Disorganised, chaotic and will need several prompts to order you something in, but that is because they are so busy.....for a reason.

had a wonder in today as I was in town, and thought it was a bit pish to be honest. I quite like their xscape store, but not this one.

I did witness a 50 plus bloke and his missus, he was trying on the full replica Sky team kit, standing in the middle of the shop, whilst the shop assistant was telling him that it needed to be neat fitting and to feel stretching across his shoulders when he was in the sprinting in his drops position. He then crouched down to replicate this position.. in the middle of the shop!

Had to leave, before I wet myself!

Popped in yesterday, bit underwhelmed, but some good sale prices on Saracen and Norcos. Not a huge range of mountain bikes, but I suppose it is TDF season.
