Was thinking of doing something different for a night ride.

One slight drawback is that we have to get back as well.

no not at all. I reckon about 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way though.

No, used to do this route loads, its not the best route in the world but avoids the road as I use to ride from Farnworth to Rivvy and back via that route.

There will be a bit of route finding so maybe a tad over 2 hours to get there.
We might return via the canal & railway Radcliffe/Bury/Tottington & road the last bit
