Was wondering if anyone on here knew of anyone/anywhere that could fix a small hole worn through an aluminium chain stay? The hole is about 2mm diameter at the most. Thanks in advance!

Welded repair could damage the heat treatment that your frame is subjected to

Truck body builder/repairer might point you in the right direction, you have Weightlifter Scotland in EH29

Aluminium frames aren't generally repairable - they can be TIGed, but that messes up the heat treating.

We have been welding lots of the 7000 series frames ,modernt thinking seems to B aluminium is disposable

Most frames are 6000 series now, aren't they? I wonder if some of that is the shift from small companies without heat treating facilities to much larger manufacturers?

One ambition I have this year is to get my TIG welding up to scratch...
