As above really, looking for a helmet mounted light, without a separate battery pack.

So, is the Diablo worth the extra cash over a joystick (not too bothered about the tiny weight difference) or should I buy a torch off eBay for about 1/7th the price. Anything else to look at?

I have just purchased this
Torch
Seems well made and very bright also fits in a joystick helmet mount.

Reviewed here by Torchy boy against others including Joysticks etc.
Who is the same eBay seller as above.

I am upgrading to one of these... XM-L2 on offer at £7:70... even 'full price' it's under a tenner. As I already have lockblock mounts and 20+ cells it's a cheap upgrade. If the modes are half decent I might get another.

Yes, very much. The joystick struggles when paired with a half decent bar light.

Not used any of the ebay special helmet lights so cant comment. But combination of a Smudge bar light and Diablo has been superb

Thanks everyone. Evans Ride2Work scheme was happy to provide a Diablo and a Maxx-D, which given the way the tax works effectively makes the diablo free, and me the commuter with the most lumens in the country 😈
