In the evening?

Pete's eats will probably be a likely candidate, but what about somewhere with a licence?

The 'Pizza and a Pint for £8' place just north of the town centre on the left, opposite the DMM factory is superb. Not open every day though, Weds-Sun from memory.
Good food and a bar.
The 'Caban' at Brynrefail is great, but only open during the day.

The chippy just down the road from Pete's is excellent, but avoid the kebabs from the takeaway opposite unless you're a Johnny Cash fan.

Spice of Llanberis is a surprisingly good Indian restaurant, not too pricey either.

Not tried any of the pubs for food in 'beris recently, although the Royal Goat in Beddgelert is nice if you fancy a drive, bit oldfashioned, but nice food.

They were renovating The Heights last time we were there - looked like it could be worth a punt.

Heard both good and bad reports of the multicoloured restaurant opposite Joe Browns clearance shop, but not tried it yet.

As RS and TSY. The Pizza + Pint are really child friendly too if you have kids.

I haven't been to the pizza place, but The Heights gets a thumbs-up from me. Lots of posh stuff, but the burger was immensely satisfying. Good puds too.

The pizza and a pint place is the Gallt y Glyn - a short walk out from llanberis, but the best place to eat (the pizza's are fantastic). Good to get there early if you want a table, and for extra kudos just turn up with chalky hands and talk about the rad route you've just redpointed 🙂 As mentioned, the Caban in Brynrefail is the best place for daytime food (and is occassionally open in the evenings) - you can walk or cycle to it from llanberis along the path beside llyn padarn.

Pete's Eats is usually frequented by the tourists as most locals know the food is better in the gallt y glyn and the caban!

If you fancy a bit further away, the Garddfon in Felinheli does great food (especially fish), and you can hang out watching the sun set over the Menai straits. If you fancy biking to dinner / pub, then take the old track / bridleway from
llanberis to Waunfawr over the hills and head for the Snowdonia Park - good standard pub food and a microbrewery.

Thanks Sue, couldn't remember the name!

The ice cream place opposite Pete's is amazing too.

Any other recommendations?

Ah, the ice cream in Llanberis - now you're talking 🙂 And in Beddgelert ... pretty good in Llanfairfechan as well.

Maybe time for the inaugral 'Snowdonia icecream road ride' - a cycling tour of the best icecreams in North Wales ... any other connoisseurs up for it?

Thanks all. Pete's was fine for bangers and mash tonight . I think we'll try the pizza tomorrow after coming down off the hill.

Llanberis chippy is the best in the world, eat it in the car by Llyn Padarn like a true biker then go to the Heights for a crossover climber's pint. Perfect!

Pete's Eats is overated, has terrible service, and is now vastly overpriced compared to what it used to be like. Many better alternatives in the area.

Argh. This thread has made me very hungry!

I try to stick to tea and toast or something similarly small before bed, but I think it's time for a midnight feast now! 🙂
