Err, as above, recommendations for a 3 night trip, flying from Gatwick. Fun riding, with lifts, not too mad but fun downhills...

Thanks. Is it easy to take bikes on train?

Easier than on a plane. If you've got them in a bike bag it is no trouble at all, if they are whole you'll need to book them, but should still be doable.

Try to get a train that changes at Lille if at all possible, otherwise you have to cross Paris, which isn't all that difficult, but crossing the platform at Lille is easier.

Sauze d'Oulx, Italy.

Was reading about here last night. Have you been? What's the riding like?

I've skied there, but not ridden. However, spoke to plenty of locals about the trails and certainly sounds like your cup of tea. really nice compact little village and some superb food! (The pizza at Orso Bianco up at Sportinia has to be one of the best I have ever tasted. Oh, and the steak at the Village Bar....nomnomnomnom)

And bike wise, not been before, will I be ok on my SC Superlight - or is new bike required?!

If that is what you are used to riding, then that is what will be best.

My missus did 4 years of biking trips to morzine, les gets, la cluzas, chamonix, valloire, etc... on a juliana superlight. She loved it!

I was hoping this was the perfect new bike excuse!
