as a advocate of the use of ebikes, only when they are needed (ill health/disability), i am looking to hire one for a weekend in the lakes in november.
i have my cast off on wednesday, then a month or so with a walking cast, so come november i am gonna give riding a go, hopefully.
if this proves ok, i will be riding a ebike,again hopefully, with the older sweary northerners, on our winter piss up in coniston.
any ebike hire spots in the area?

Ton - I've just come back from a holiday in the Bavarian Alps and the e-bikes outnumbered normal bikes 2 to 1. I've never seen so many, full sus 29, fat bikes, everything was electric
It seemed that everyone over 30 had one not just the old and infirm.

I've hired one from the Grizedale shop and would recommend them.
Only a matter of time before they outnumber traditional bikes.
Keswick bikes do them too,I believe.

Why would I flame? You are in recovery. Plus if you have subsequent issues post recovery why not buy one?
