Entered 🙂 no. 87

My first Enduro and I'm bricking it regarding fitness. Hopefully the daily commute and weekend off-road rides will get me up to fitness in time.

I'm in no. 249. Think 2005 or 2006 was the last time I did it and it was excellent! 😆

For you Dyfi first-timers - tyres suitable for slatey ridged rock and [irony]don't believe anyone who tells you the first fireroad does not involve a climb[/irony]. Great event (just remember, when you get to the end there's still a while to go back to town...). racing_ralph - it'll be worth the journey 🙂

I suspect this will be full very very quickly, might even beat the 6 days it took to fill up last year.

Great event, but don't use lightweight tyres as the slate descents will shred them, I ended up with 3 nutrigrain bars jammed between the inner tube and my tyre one year in order to cover up all the sidewall cuts, it was a bit weird seeing red jam oozing out of my tyre at the end though.

:DLOL @ richc - will have to remember that one....
Surely its only a matter of time until we see a "Which Tyres For The Dyfi" Thread ? Personally,I will be riding on the ones that are always on my bike as
A) I am too lazy to change them
B) They are the tyres that I have ridden all around there on before

Might run some DH tubes though so I don't have to faff with punctures !!! Well,it's my theory anyhoo.

Yeah - seems a bit odd to reduced numbers. Although I know last time I entered there a few more than the "official" limit. Good value at £20 too I thought.

Whytetrash - I assume your id is significant? I'm really looking forward to taking the E-120 down those rocky descents (on a 2000 Mount Vision last time I did it 🙂

Nah I live in a trailer park and am Dyslexic 😉

Yeah the E5 was great last year, not sure if I'd use 2.1 speedkings again though, then again nothing could cope with the combination of gloop, rocks and endless fire road climbs any better!

I did the dyfi last year. The downs were good, but, as with all enduros, the endless fire-road ascents got me down. Good vibe though, and cheerleaders at the top of the first climb was very pleasing. 😀

For variety of riding, the Blackmill Rat-run enduro was a better mix and probably harder too.

Er, I ought to know more about this than I do...

What's the distance this year? Is it 60k-ish?
