i have a full suspension bike with dt swiss e540 rims .on my ht i have some hope hoops 4.1 dt swiss spokes & rims with pro 11 hub.
i am selling the ht & wanted to know peoples opinions if the hope hoops would be worth swapping onto the full sus instead of the e540.
i am a light weight 9st rider.
both wheel sets are about 3 months old.
stw thoughts are appreciated.
Sorry the hope hoops are 4.2
depends on how wide you want your tyres and how hard you plan to ride it.
The E540s are wider and heavier - very similar to the 5.1 - so can handle proper 2.3 tyres and take a fair amount of punishment.
If you're doing okay with the 4.1s then I'd go with them. 9st isn't a lot...
IME the 540's take much more abuse than 4.2's. They are a pain with certain tyre combo's though. If you're not worried about weight and ride in punishing terrain then go for the 540's.
thanks guys.its a 6" focus full sus so does egt ridden quite hard & your right about certain tyres.
i run 2.4s on the e540 so the 4.2 are only reccomeneded upto 2.2.again thanks
