Ive just purchased up a new Trek 2.1 Road Bike in red and black and i think im being punished for flirting with the dark side!! After building up the bike i noticed that the red of the fork is a shade lighter than the red on the frame, not huge but noticeable and annoying.
The dealer called trek and they said that there is a known issue with a batch and they said that they could send another fork but it could to be the same and instead offered a small amount of refund (as in trivial)
Just wondering if anyone else has had this kind of issue with an MTB and if it got successfully sorted? Im guessing Trek send their frames and spares in large containers so if the batch is duff im pretty stuffed.
Is it really bad? got any pics before anyone accuses you of being fussy ๐
I would guess that as it's a carbon fork it will be manufactured and painted at a different facility than the aluminium frame. They will do all the red forks in batches, so if the colour mix was wrong it will be like that on many of them, possibly all of them depending on how many batches and if anyone noticed...
My wife can see it and she can't normally see a difference between a road bike and my mtb! ๐
Yeah is carbon fork so I think ur right, pretty amazed a major brand could goof a whole batch on a mainstream bike though.
