I've seen guys who are fast and go past and they're perfectly nice about it and I've seen guys who are asshats that appear to think they own the trail. All depends how you do it.
Thankfully I'm awwwwwesome to the max so never bothers me.
Actually went riding on Saturday and felt a little bit faster
than usual...........Jedi training methinks.

From Wikipedia

Narcissism is the personality trait of egotism, vanity, conceit, or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others.
The name "narcissism" was coined by Freud after Narcissus who in Greek myth was a pathologically self-absorbed young man who fell in love with his own reflection in a pool.
Some experts believe a disproportionate number of pathological narcissists are at work in the most influential reaches of society such as medicine, finance, politics and more recently mountain biking.[5]

I'm 17 stone, rode all throughout the winter on a distinctly average bike, smoking copius amounts of weed and never passing by a pub without stopping in for 1 or 2 pints of the black stuff. Oh and on occassion I also get passed by people walking uphill, my mindset is that if some passes me they are trying too hard and should take a smoke of a joint, with this approach i find even the easiest downhill becomes extremely interesting, how awesome am I? 😀

Sometimes I think I ought to start going to trail centres just for the opportunity to meet people like Stug45.

Up whites climb. Over and down the wall. Down the first descent of whites up the fireroad past the end of the black. All of skyline including descent. Handy Andy being closed at the time.

GPS with a Nokia. Quoted 45 according to it. Trace looked right from the map view.

Negative use of the forum

It is our aim that the forum should have an overall positive effect on the mountain bikers that use it. Experience has shown us that certain individuals like to contribute simply to cause trouble. Technically these people are known as Trolls but like all negative elements in society they learn the rules and are quite cunning in their ability to stay just within the letter of the law and yet still manage to cause irritation to other users. So, to try and combat these negative forum users we reserve the right to suspend the accounts or remove the posts of anyone we consider to be a predominantly negative contributor to the forum.

Jazz has space for 3 bikes and riders. Most reliable car. Economical. Quality. Doesn't attract attention. From obvious wasters like you.

Trouble with you lot is that none of you are competitive. You can only become a better rider by trying to beat all around you, and it is important that if one rider is better than another, then the better rider tells everyone, and treats the worse rider with contempt. This is, after all, a competitive society.

Oh, and a good lap time for the 45 miles of Afan trails is around 2 hours 32 mins. If you haven't got near that you're a no hoper.

I paricularly like the bit where he quotes one rule about negative use of the forum, and breaks another by swearing.
