Ive been offered a set of wheels built on XTR hubs by a mate to replace my dead Hope hoops
His XTR freehub is pretty quiet
But then most things are after a Hope hub 🙂
Is it normal for XTR hubs to be silent-ish when youre freewheeling?

XTR wheels are silent compared to Hope.....
Hope hubs are fully servicable. Why not get them rebuilt? If you have any other problem Hope customer care is legendary. Just ring them on 01282851200, and they'll sort it. Ususally FOC they are top blokes up there.

I normally use Hope hubs on my bikes but decided I wanted something quieter for my tourer and opted for the XTRs.
yes, shimano hubs purrrrrrrrrr rather than click, not silent, but on my SS tyre noise, wind noise, ground crunching noises drown out my XT hubs.
