thinking of buying said frame and building into a hardcore trail bike, is it a good frame etc...

Prboably not for a trail bike. Trailstar would be better

ST mag tested one a while back. Was good fun IIRC. Heavy though.

Aye, just found it - Issue 42 from June 2008. Tested against a DB Alpine and an Orange SubZero.

was thinking about alpine too, can anyone tell me which bike ST thought was better

My son has a DMR Sidekick, FWIW DMR appear to make really nice bikes

Not tried the Exalt but still loving my Trailstar. It works great for anything I've ridden it on so far, including Cannock, Long Mynd and also a lot of dirt jumping 🙂
