Reverb diy airseal fix. Top one is how to hold shaft without damaging it.
The seal that failed was the one that the rockshox vid does not show how to fix.
The silver part is a seal carrier that has internal and external seals and sealsbetween the main shaft (the post)
And the air shaft. The carrier was only finger tight, so the seal forced its way out and cut itself.

Seal is cross section 2mm, id 19, od 23mm.
The v block and machine vice worked a treat. Whole job takes about 15mins.

yes, my nails are a bit grim.
re the reverb, i was trying to show that mending a broken one is actually very simple. i have seen people take longer mending a puncture. the one in the picture had zero miles on it, and the seal carrier wasnt tightened. duff in house quality.

If it does fail when you are riding, the post is long enough (well for me cos i've got short legs) to pull out of the frame and use as a non dropper post to get you home. o rings are pence.

i wonder how many miles i'm going to get until it fails again though..

i didn't send it back because i couldn't be bothered with the hassle, i got it from Rose bikes.
