Quick question, will standard hope disc pads be sufficient for an alpine holiday (fast downhill/singletrack) for a 160mm bike? (as opposed to sintered)

Standard will probably be more suitable than sintered- weather dependant but they tend to cope better with heat.

Controversially I have ordered organic this time in the hope of less heat buildup and less squeal.

If its forecast wet then sintered will be better though so maybe a mix.

Another tip is to swap them each day and keep the baked ones for the UK winter as they will last a lot longer. Lot lot longer! Yes it's a faff but worth it

I'd never heard that... Makes sense though.

My pro tip- make sure the spare pads you take are for the brakes you have fitted, not the ones you replaced a year ago.
