I'm assuming that m800 is just the newer model.............but my assumptions are often way off the mark!

Are the differences negligible?

You'll need wee adapter to fit/remove the M8000. It should be supplied but worth checking if you're buying it from one of the brown box shifters.

I think the newer ones have slighter wider but possibly smaller diameter bearings and supposedly better sealing. Price has jumped up too and Rose are no longer doing the old style XTRs for cheap. Good job I have 2 spares!
