When I started mountain biking 11 years ago I used to look at the roadies going past and I thought that they looked daft- I genuinely couldn't understand how that could be fun. Well, I went on my first ever club run today and it amazing. Great bunch of people and riding in a group is great, the lack of wind resistance really feels like it's just pulling you along. Loved it!

Yeah it is a different kind of fun! A lot different to mtb but a nice feeling.

Im planning a club run now im back from 2 weeks all inclusive 😉

I always go out alone but just before my hols i was passed by a group on on a club run and you really could feel it pulling you along. My mate whos a regular at a club says it really helps to bring your speed up for when you out on your own

Worth a shot at least i reckon. Not sure if they will welcome my rohloff tourer tho

Keep meaning to get along to a local club run. It's a good enough feeling when riding with a mate and you take turns on the front

Drafting roadies on a fat bike is fun though, especially if you shout "ride faster, lead me out!"

Glad you enjoyed it. Proper group riding (as opposed to a chain gang thrashing) should feel like flying. I coach my groups to stay one and a half handlebars apart, then you get a draft from both rider columns.

Now you need to learn "through and off" and "bit and bit". And "half wheeling" 😉

Joined a club run by the LBS earlier this year to get me out riding more.

Managed one Sunday club run and one velodrome session.

I'm a failure at that as well.....

Carl's tea hut in Epping Forest, it's a regular stopping spot for mountain biking too. Amazing as always! 🙂
