One of the first ones the day it was built 4 years ago. Not as clean as that now, but still a fantastic wee bike.

I know this is an old thread but in the hope that smudge looks again.

Smudge, is that taken near Boldmere Gate in Sutton Park? The name of the lake escapes me at the moment. But the pub used to be called La Reserve.

Yes I have seen on the SPT page on facebook they have been busy but I've not been able to go for a look because I'm injured. 3 more months and I will be all over it like a bad rash.

I had one of the original ones (2007 or 8?). It was great. Used it for all sorts from xcing to dirt jumping to downhill in the alps.

Sold it to a mate who used it for downhill in the alps when his downhill bike broke. He sold it to a mate whos still using it, think he raced the mega on it this year and won his race!

Always loved the look of Alpines. David, I know you're a fan of Trailstars as well, how does it compare for the fun stuff (DJs and the more "freeride" type of DH)? And also how does it compare to the BFe?

Tom,

As a downhill bike it was awesome, probably the best Ive ridden.

For jumps n stuff it was alrite, not as good as a trailstar (obviously) and I think I prefer the Cotics aswell, although the builds on all of them were different.

I had the 17/22 so it was pretty small. My mate bought one of the newer 18inch ones and that felt massive (probably even better for straightlining stuff, but no good on the jumps n that)

I thought you were getting a nukeproof anyway? ๐Ÿ™‚

Haven't decided yet and need to sort out what I'm selling to fund it! I also really like the look of the Deity Cryptkeeper.
