Do I use a normal crank removal tool to pull the driveside crank off the spindle? Y'know like you used to with Square Taper bottom brackets?

If it's the x-type cranks you just need an allen key!

Ah, now your asking me somthing I don't know. They came on the bike, and I suspect not as I've just been and whipped the bolt out, and it's definately not a self extractor type.

If it's like the other RF cranks I have removed...do the 8mm one way whilst keeping the 10mm in place. Or something.

Ah, right, looks like someone else had the same problem.

I'd be carefull. Managed to strip the threads on the self extracting bolt first time I removed them.

Sticking to a bolt to hold them on and tool to remove now

Right, ta, will bear that in mind as I've just ordered a self extractor from CRC. Loctite on the fixed bit, grease on the removing bit I think.

you need an isis type crank puller - the one with the larger flatter central bit - http://www.totalcycling.com/index.php/product/TL_PARK_CCP44.html?action=currency&id=GBP or use a normal one with an american dime or 5pence piece to push against)

if they are 2008 onwards they didnt have the self extracting allen key bolt
The instructions that came with the cranks or online are wrong, they dropped the self extracting bit from 2008
