Filth.
I’ll be keeping and eye on that for when it comes into stock.

If I'm being picky, I'd prefer a front mech and wider rims. Otherwise... 😊

Ah, road.cc have updated their page on it to match Decathlon's website - it's actually £2499.99.. 🤔

Was thinking it might have been a possible alternative to the Planet X ti gravel bikes, but add on another £400 and I'm not sure.

2.05kg frame and fork apparently. So with that build above probably approaching 10.5kg full bike in a grown up size.

I'm with you on this too but it seems if you want wider wheels and tyres most manufacturers ditch the front mech to create the space.

Yeah, but I'm not convinced it's necessary. I easily have tyre clearance with 650x47s (25mm internal rims} with a 105 double and GRX offers another 3mm at the crank too.

Way more than I can afford, but assuming I could I'm not sure it'd make the shortlist.

Whilst I've no problem with single ring setup I really don't see the point of making a frame like this that simply doesn't have the versatility of a front mech. option (I'm assuming that it won't have the necessary cable guides).

Doesn't appear to have mudguard mounts or rack mounts (odd on a gravel bike and particularly when the fork does have bag mounts).

According to one of the comments on the road.cc website it's also a press fit bb frame.

I think this from Ribble would be a better proposition

Is there really much in it between the Decathlon and Ribble? Frames look almost identical except for absence of rear mounts, and you're paying £2900 for a Ribble with GRX810 1x instead of £2500 for the Decathlon with GRX600.

The Decathlon almost just fills a gap in the Ribble range rather than being in direct competition with it.

Looks pretty. Boardman have just launched a carbon gravel bike which also looks pretty for £1700

Looks nice, but as much as I hate myself for saying it, the bike snob inside me wouldn't be seen dead on a Decathlon bike.

Question(Prepared to be shouted at/ridiculed)

If for you roadies its all about lightweight, why a Ti, given alloy is lighter. Can't only be about comfort 😕

Edit: ignore, get frame weights and frame+fork weights confused...

I would want a few more vowels for that kind of wedge.

Looks like a nice bike, but I'd be more interested in the Boardman mentioned above. I'm not even that gravel-curious, but I thought it looked very keenly priced and well-specced.

Just a generalized question directed towards Road Cyclists, who are more likely to be replying on this that any other thread
(Before you start off again, that was another generalization 😉 )

But you agree with me that Road cyclists like Titanium bikes, and Titanium is heavier than Alloy.

Im so glad we've sorted that one out.

But forgive me, Im not clued up on Roadie stuff, and stupidly thought the drop bars, thin large diameter wheels and big chainset was Roadie related. Oh how silly of me.

I have 3 Ti bikes. 2 MTBs and one gravel/adventure/tourer. I've seen loads more Ti MTBs over the years than Ti road bikes.

I've got a Ti MTB, but my road bike's carbon. And I'd like that Decathlon bike 🙂

Yes I just saw that. Looks nice. 2x GRX. Sadly Mrs. S. would also want one but sadly Boardman don't do teeny tiny sizes.

I really like steel road bikes.

Do you HAVE to have matchy-matchy bikes then?

On a tangent - can anyone explain the position of GRX in the Shimano heirarchy by reference to either road or MTB groupsets? I was under the impression there may be different levels within GRX - is it like 105 and Ultegra?

Yeah, as far as I can tell GRX400 is sort of Tiagra level, GRX600 is sort of 105 level and GRX810 is Ultegra level.

Of course, some components only exist on one level, e.g. the front mechs are all 810 I think.

Got a steel road bike, quite fancy a steel gravel bike. Ribble do quite a nice one, not soo fussed about weight.
