Going to decathlon this morning, looking for a 9speed cassette and chain not looking to spend a lot, how do these prices compare and the quality of the stuff?

Decathlon stuff is random in general. Some stuff is brilliant value other bits very very basic.

The in-house brand, B-twin, is a lot better than it used to be. I reckon they shifted supplier in the last few years. Never had a drive train but things like pumps, helmets, gloves I've bought. They are as good (or some times better) than more expensive branded stuff I've bought.

Having run a Rockrider for several years I can confirm that their components are usually heavy but nigh on indestructible. They'll normally have a mid range option from a 'name' manufacturer for a decent-ish price as well.
