Hi

Im in Leeds for the weekend and have all of Monday to drive back to Cambridge

Im after some recs for whats good around Leeds or the M1

There are some obvious ones but Id like to know if they will be rideable or muddy or else closed for logging

Wharncliffe and Cut Gate spring to mind

Will these be good or can you suggest somewhere better handy for my route

Cheers

Answered your own question. The M1 (or the M62) is good around Leeds. Ideal for a hasty getaway.

Wharncliffe or Cut Gate are no where near Leeds.

It's not rained in Sheff all week and it looks like a dry weekend too. There is potential for a drier Cut Gate (as it was a bit sloppy last weekend). It should be a good weekend of riding in the Peaks where ever you opt to ride.

cheers fellas - just what I needed!

I know the Cut Gates nowhere near Leeds

It is though, as far as I can tell, not too far off the M1 along which I will be travelling with no hurry to get home

Thanks

What about Dalby Forest, then shoot down the A1 to Cambridge which is quicker than the M1?

exit the M1 at J37 and head for Stocksbridge/Langsett area. You can park up at the Langsett side of Cut Gate and do an out and back in about 1 1/2 hrs. Or carry on and do a loop around the dams or over to Snake Pass/Edale valleys.

Should be about 15min or less off J37 to get to that side of Cut Gate.
