Anyone riden round recently?

Was thinking of a semi slick like a conti race king 2.0 or a conti X-King 2.2, depends how dry things are?

Cheers

Tyres for Thetford - a simple equation

Dry = F - RR R - RR
Damp = F - NB R - RR
Wet = F - DD R - NB

Cheers, and how about HT or full sus for the solo 12hr, how rough is it?

Its very bumpy but I think a nice springy steel HT is best. Maybe a short travel 3/4" FS would be good depends if you want to destroy it in the mud. If its wet, it is not fun.

It's very sloppy mud though, you'll never need a proper mud tyre, it's not like Mayhem or anything.

It's not really bumpy per se, it's just full of 'whoops' which can be accentuated by a FS. Backache is the killer in Thetford IMO!

The main problem at the moment is the sand. The ground is so dry the course is crumbling in places.

I hope this is still the case on Saturday night.

Last year was pretty bad mud wise - Mud X front & NN rear did me ok though.....Till I got fed-up with it & decided to get drunk instead...........

Well, looking out of the front door right now, I'm now thinking Nobby Nic on the front might be a good idea.

I hope this weather stops because I think I may now be too old for slogging round in the rain and mud for twelve hours.
