[#1450241]

I have been offered a job in Bath, and I would like to cycle in once a week to help my fitness.

However my new potential workplace doesn't have shower facilities, so does anyone know of any mud-dock type setups in Bath with secure storage and showers?

No not yet*, only option might be to use the showers at the Sports Centre (Grand Parade)??

*Avon Valley are moving from the rear of the station to the front - would be great if they could get some kind of Mud Dock type facility set up)

Should add railing outside of Sports Centre double as bike park. You could leave a D lock attached to them.

There are no facilites at my work and I ride every day, only a short one at the moment but have done 15 mile off road commute before now. I would recommend having a meeting with your boss after a sweaty ride and suggesting some shower facilities 😉 Or just use the sink in the toilets for a gentlemans wash... The biggest problem I've had wasn't the sweat but the mud. I tend to wear shorts at work though.

I thought everyone in Bath just smelled of Penhalligons or Crabtree and Evelyn - if you don't, you're not achingly lower upper class enough to work there. Sorry.

How far is your commute ?
As nice as a shower is you can freshen up suprisingly well if you shower before your commute, but depends how long your riding for. I use baby wipes & plenty of Arrid XXX body spray.

If you have to ask, you'll not be living or working in Bath.

Analogue Andy smells divine!

If the mens lav sinks are ok you might getaway with it.

If you meet clients then a shower would be useful-try the local gyms?

Expensive shower though.

I would never shower in Muddock after watching all the sewage reverse pump out...

I would be riding from Bristol, so I suspect I will be getting sweaty, as for asking for showers, well I forgot to negotiate that part of the package 😉

Might look at the sports centre once I have got myself established

Thanks for the help everyone.

I ride in from Bristol every day and don't have showers at the bath end but because it it pretty much flat along the cycle path I find it is quite easy to take it gentle-ish and not get too sweaty, so get away without needing a shower at the other end.
